Want to Hit More?

If you don't want to perform better at the plate STOP reading this. If you want to hit more; more dingers, more doubles, harder, more base hits period.. You can. You can do that starting to develop your most underused power source you posses; your HIPs and your BUTT. They are an enormous foundation for power if you use them. Sadly, most players don't and are basically robbing themselves of becoming the hitter they could be. I don't disregard your hitting coaches, you need them. They are an integral part of you growing and developing as a player. But you work on your swing all you want, learn from the best hitting instructors on the planet but they can't develop your power source in your hips and glutes.. Only you can. And you can by perfecting exercises that enable your body to fire those muscle groups and start to incorporate those necessary skills into your routine. Your body as it develops these mechanics will start to incorporate the power they posses into your hitting. Believe me, it will be like unleashing A wave of power into your game. You'll feel like you showed up to the field in a Ferrari..
This exercise is one of my favorite to start developing that hip glute power combo. It's an elevated split squat. Your back leg should be on a slightly higher box than your front, front foot is completely on the box, shoulders back, player drops into a deep lunge. Your doing the exercise correctly if it feels slightly uncomfortable. Try 15 reps each leg x3 in your circuit.
Adding the Kinetic Bands to this drill enhances strength development by challenging the Softball Player and Athletes to push through the resistance for maximum benefit.
