FIELDING PROBLEMS?
I thought that might catch your attention.. Do you have younger players that have issues with proper fielding positions, such as staying low on the ball, transitioning from one skill to another, or getting in a good athletic position for their ready position? Do you see them rounding their back, keeping their butt too high, or a slow first step to the ball?
I know this looks like a simple movement but this really helps teach my younger players to start initiating the correct form and muscle groups. Most of them don't load in a fielding position throughout their hips (which allows for an explosive first step), aren't low enough themselves to judge the spin on the ball correctly, and aren't mobile enough to drive through their hips and legs. I start with teaching them proper hip and glute mobility movements, then slowly incorporate the Kinetic Bands into their movements. These allow for a complete lower body cue to players to perform.
